Engineering plastics are a growing part of what we produce and among them, PEEK is one of the most requested materials we machine. Its strength, wear resistance, and stability at high temperatures make it a natural choice for precision components in medical, aerospace, and other demanding applications.
A recent batch saw us machining PEEK rods into precision slotted washers on our L20E VIII sliding head lathe, produced to our customer’s exact specifications. Alongside PEEK we regularly work with Acetal, Nylon, PTFE, and Polypropylene – material selection typically comes down to the specific performance requirements of the application.
Our sliding head machines are well suited to plastic turned parts, particularly where tight tolerances and clean finishes are required on small to medium diameter components.
